Algarve Best Golf Destination in the world

The International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) has named, for the third time, the Algarve as the "Best Golf Destination in the World 2020", adding to the vast collection of accolades and worldwide recognition.

The votes were cast among the representatives of IAGTO by 700 golf tour operators from over 60 countries.

“Not only is the Algarve a must-see place for the amateur golfer, but it has attracted the best professionals in the world, thanks to the diversity and renowned quality of the 40 golf courses and the renowned hospitality and professionalism of the region’s agents,'' said the president of the Algarve Tourism Region, João Fernandes.

The Algarve's offer of golf courses is massive. From 9 to 18-hole courses, you can choose and find prices that match all budgets. Whatever your strategy is, there will never be a reason for not enjoying one of the many golf opportunities in the Algarve.

João Fernandes also stated that “The Algarve has consistently put the golf visitors’ experience at the top of their agenda and I would like to congratulate all of the golf courses, hotels and golf tourism suppliers in the region for this outstanding achievement.”

With regular flight connections to Faro airport, the Algarve is also an easily accessible destination. With a wide range of accommodation options, year-round sunshine and a host of additional attractions for families, couples and golfers alike, it is a destination that delivers on all fronts.
